Bavarian Dialects, -Bavarian language, boarisch, lit. Bairisch -a large group of dialects górnoniemieckich, classified by Linguistics as distinct from the German language, but more commonly, due to the fact that Bavaria is primarily a language mówionym, and its users do use in writing the language of German, is treated as dialects of the German team. In the area occupied by the Bavarian dialects there is a widespread diglossia-speech uses the local dialect of Bavarian/Austrian, while writing the standard German. Many users, especially in smaller towns, usually does not have the opportunity to use the German language, although learning it in school. Historically, the language of Bavaria has spread on the area of present-day Austria, therefore some scholars prefer the name “Franco-Bavarian”

University of Rupert-Charles in Heidelberg (Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg) is the oldest German university based in Heidelberg.

History

The University was founded during the Great Schism. It was first founded in 1386 by the Elector Palatine Rupert under the Bull of Pope Urban VI published October 23, 1385. He was the third University, Holy Roman Emperor (at the universities of Vienna and Prague). The aim of the University was teaching philosophy, theology, jurisprudence and medicine. The first Rector was introduced from the Sorbonne, nominalista Marsilius of Inghen. One of the following rektorów was Matthew of Kraków.

The Reformation had a huge impact on the University, it becomes the Centre of kalwinizmu. Released in 1563 Heidelberg Catechism was largely developed by a person related to the Academy.

During the thirty years ‘ war the intellectual and financial importance of the University has been weakened. In 1622, after the sack of the Palatinate by the Catholic League army, collections of Bibliotheca Palatina were exported to Rome.

In 1693, during the war with France, the University was destroyed and temporarily closed. In the 18th century, as a result of the activities of the Counter-Reformation the University lost its Protestant character. In 1802, has been reorganized and transformed into the institution of the State by Charles Badeńskiego. Since then, it bears the name of the University of Rupert-Charles.
